Research at ChYRP

Research is at the core of ChYRP's academic mission. Our grants and fellowships are awarded through competitive public calls, supporting diverse methodological approaches - from legal-doctrinal analysis and theoretical frameworks to quantitative, qualitative, and experimental research. We place particular emphasis on meaningful child participation in research processes.

Our research agenda spans critical areas in children's rights, including:

  • SDG-related topics (poverty, health, education, gender equality)
  • Juvenile justice
  • Rights of minority children (including Palestinian, Ultra-Orthodox, Ethiopian, and other minority communities)
  • Impact of war and crisis on children's rights and well-being
  • Child well-being
  • Digital rights and children in cyberspace

Each year, we highlight a specific UN Convention on the Rights of the Child provision for focused research attention, encouraging studies that examine its implementation across all sectors of Israeli society. Annual calls for research proposals are typically published in January.
