Call for Applications

2025-26 Post-Doctoral Fellowships in Human Rights

The Minerva Center for Human Rights at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is now accepting applications for Post-Doctoral positions in 2025-26

 

The Fellowships include:

  • A status of a Research Fellow at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Minerva Center for Human Rights for the 2025-2026 academic year (October 2025 – September 2026).
  • A one-year scholarship in the total amount of NIS 90,000.
  • The possibility of travel funding for participation in international conferences.

Requirements:

  • The Fellowships are open to researchers from all academic disciplines, working in the field of human rights.
  • The research proposal should address current human right themes and challenges (e.g., democracy and human rights; human rights in the shadow of the war; AI and human rights), and indicate its relevance to Israel or to Israel-Palestine.
  • Applicants must have received their Doctorate after October 2021 and before October 2025.
  • Fellows are expected to be present at the Center in Jerusalem at least 3 days a week and involved in the Center’s academic meetings and activities throughout the year.
  • Fellows are expected to complete a peer-reviewed article or other significant research project during the year, and to present it at academic events.

Application instructions:

  • Applications should include:
    • Research plan (up to 2 pp.) describing the topics the applicant intends to research during the Fellowship year, methodology and relevance to the Fellowship’s research focus.
    • Summary of the doctoral thesis (up to 2 pp.) and official confirmation of the date the PhD was awarded or (if not yet approved) submitted.
    • Curriculum vitae, including publications.
    • Two recommendation letters, including one from the doctoral supervisor.
  • Applications should be submitted to the Center by email, in one combined PDF file, to: mchr@savion.huji.ac.il. Recommendation letters may be forwarded separately. The proposal materials and recommendation letters may be in Hebrew or English.

Interviews of select candidates will be held in the last week of March.
